We Paint Your Own Design on Canvas

You made the design. We paint it. Send us your illustration, digital art, sketch, render or brand artwork and our studio in Dafen Art Village, Shenzhen, hand-paints it on canvas in oil or acrylic, at any size, as one piece or a matched run. Nothing is printed. There is no minimum order. Trade pricing starts from one piece. You see photos of every finished canvas before anything ships, and your artwork stays yours.

Who sends us their own designs

Individuals and businesses use the same quote form. WhatsApp replies are usually immediate; email replies usually arrive within 12 hours.

Good fit

• Your own illustration, digital painting, vector art, sketch or 3D render.
• Brand artwork you own or hold a license to use.
• One canvas, or a run of 5, 20 or 100, of one design or several mixed.
• Any size, including a size cut to a specific wall or store fixture.

Not a fit

• Another company’s design, a licensed character or a celebrity likeness, even if you supply the file.
• The work of a living artist, or an artist who died less than 70 years ago.

What we need from you

1. Your file. PNG, JPG, PDF or a vector file. A phone screenshot can work for a simple design with big shapes, but the bigger and cleaner the file, the more detail we can paint. We review every file and tell you what we can and cannot paint before we quote. If your design came from an image generator, see AI image to painting.
2. The size. Width and height, in inches or centimeters. We keep 60 standard sizes from 24 by 20 inches up to 80 by 60 inches, and any other size is painted to your measurements at the same rate.
3. Oil or acrylic. Both are available and you choose. If you are not sure, tell us the look you want and we will recommend one.
4. The finish. Rolled in a tube, stretched on solid wood bars, or framed in black, white, wood, silver or gold.
5. The quantity. One piece or a run. Mixed designs count together for pricing.
6. Color notes. Paint codes, fabric swatches or a photo of the room. Screens differ, so a physical reference beats a hex value.

What changes when pixels become paint

A painting is not a print, and that is the point. Still, it helps to know what shifts before we start. If your design is built from grids, arches or color blocks, our page on custom geometric paintings shows how those shapes look once they are painted.

• Flat color. A flat fill becomes a flat area of paint. Up close you see brush marks. From across the room it reads as one color. If you want it as smooth as possible, say so and we keep the texture low.
• Clean edges. Hand-painted edges are crisp, but they are made by a hand, not cut by a machine. A very slight softness is normal.
• Gradients. Smooth fades are blended in wet paint. They work best at larger sizes, where the painter has room to blend.
• Lettering and fine lines. We can paint text and thin lines. The smaller the letters, the more they show the hand. Tell us if lettering must be exact.
• Screen glow. A screen is backlit. Paint is not. Bright neon colors look a little deeper on canvas, so for a critical color send a physical reference.

How we agree what counts as close enough

Before we start, we confirm the points that matter most to you: exact colors, proportions, the level of texture, and anything that must not change. Commissions get progress photos during painting. When the piece is finished, we photograph it and send you the photos. Nothing leaves the studio until you approve. If a defect is our fault, we repaint it at our cost. Oil or acrylic for a graphic design

Both are available, and you choose. Oil has to dry between layers, which is why large or heavily layered oil pieces sit at the top of their production band. Tell us whether you want a flat, matte look or a richer, deeper one, and we will recommend a medium before we quote. Our contemporary minimalist collection shows flat color and clean shapes painted by hand.

One piece or a series

No two hand-painted canvases are identical down to the brushstroke. They can, and should, look the same from across the room. Here is how we keep a run consistent.

• Every piece in the run is painted from the same file and the same color notes.
• For a first order or a large project we paint a sample first. You approve it, then the run follows the same file and notes. The sample cost is credited back on any order of 10 pieces or more.
• We photograph every finished canvas, so you can compare the whole run side by side before you approve.

Mixed designs count together toward the price breaks. Eight of one design and four of another are 12 pieces for pricing. If you paint murals, ink tattoos or play in a band, we walk through how your own artwork scales up to wall size on a page written for you.

Production time by quantity

1 to 5 pieces take 7 to 10 business days. 6 to 20 pieces take 10 to 15. 21 to 50 take 15 to 20. 51 to 100 take 20 to 30. Over 100 is scheduled with you. Pieces 36 by 48 inches and larger, heavy texture and multi-panel sets sit at the top of their band because thick paint has to dry between layers, and oil takes longer still.

Sizes and finishes

Yes, we can make it big from a small file. A painter does not enlarge pixels. They read the shapes and colors in your design and paint them at the new size. A small clean file with simple shapes scales up well. A small blurry file with fine detail does not, because the detail is not there to paint. Your artwork stays yours

When you send us a design, you confirm that you own it or hold a license to use it. We paint your design for you, and we do not reuse it for other buyers.

We do not paint other companies’ designs, licensed characters, celebrity likenesses, or the work of living or recently deceased artists, even when a client supplies the file. This follows the same rule as our reproductions, where we paint only works in the public domain.

Many designers and store owners need us to stay in the background with their client. Tell us in your enquiry what you need on packing, paperwork and communication, and we confirm the arrangement in writing before you order.

We can also change your design before it becomes paint: resize it to a new ratio, swap a color for your brand color, or add a personal or brand element. Send the change with the file and we quote the whole job together.

Shipping, duty and payment

Delivery is EXW our Shenzhen studio. Freight is quoted separately at cost, and we do not add to it. Express by FedEx or DHL takes 5 to 10 business days. Air and sea freight are available, and sea takes 25 to 40 days. CIF and DDP on request.

Paintings done entirely by hand fall under HTS 9701, which has a free base rate of duty into the United States. Other China-origin measures can apply, so confirm with your customs broker.

Payment is usually a 50 percent deposit with the balance before the goods are released. We take wire transfer, PayPal or card. Terms are confirmed on the invoice. Full trade terms are on our trade page.

A few designs are not painted on canvas at all. Where the technique is a watercolor wash, the piece is made on pure cotton watercolor paper, because that surface is what lets the color bleed the way it should. We tell you which surface a design uses when we quote it.
