Custom Hand-Painted Art for US Interior Designers

These orders need different instructions. For a residence, your client may care most about a particular composition, its relationship to a sofa and the character of the brushwork. A workplace or hotel package also needs room references, quantities and a way to track individual approvals.

The distinction appears in Saatchi Art’s trade programme, which separates single-family residential designers from hospitality, commercial and multifamily buyers. When you brief PaletteMomento, make that distinction practical: identify a one-off focal work, a repeated image or a group of different images. “Ten paintings” alone leaves the most consequential production decision unanswered.

Write width, height and units together, then say whether they refer to the painted face, stretched canvas or outside of the frame. If your elevation uses feet and inches, include the intended artwork measurements separately from the wall opening. A frame adds to the finished object’s size; it should not consume clearance you thought was available around the painting.

For example, an instruction such as “60 in wide × 40 in high, landscape, canvas dimensions before framing” is clearer than “60 × 40 above console.” This is an illustrative specification, not a recommended size for every room. If the approved image is square, also mark the crop for the wider canvas. We need your decision about what stays in the image before we can paint it accurately.

You can make the same distinction in your own canvas schedule. Keep the agreed frame finish, dimensions and colour range together, while assigning a different approved image to each location. If a painting uses a city photograph or locally significant motif, identify the details that must remain recognisable. Supply material you are entitled to commission from; a photograph of another office’s art is not a ready-to-copy production file.

Give each painting an identifier that travels with its image, instructions and approval. That prevents a correctly painted canvas being assigned to the wrong room when several similar pieces are reviewed together.

• Use your drawing reference or room code as the artwork ID.
• Attach the final image file and revision number to that ID.
• Record width, height, framing, quantity and any approved colour changes on the same line.
• Separate the visual approver from the delivery contact if they are different people.
• Identify the receiving address and project phase for each group.

For an order containing both repeated and unique compositions, label them explicitly. A repeated painting still has natural variation in hand-applied paint; a coordinated series needs a stated allowance for differences in the image itself.

Your rendering can show placement and overall balance. It cannot confirm the brushwork on the finished object. We share progress photos and video, then daylight photographs of the completed canvas before dispatch. Compare the painted work with the approved file and note changes against its artwork ID.

For a residence, review the full painting as well as the details your client chose it for. For a package, compare related pieces together so a change in contrast or colour strength is visible across the set.
