Ask for the wall width, furniture width, and a straight-on image. A photograph helps with placement but does not supply reliable dimensions. Have the client tape out the intended artwork boundary and send a second picture.
How wide should art be above a 180 cm headboard?
Around 120 cm across the framed piece or group is a useful starting point. Check nearby reading lights and the headboard height, then choose a proportion that suits the image. Treat the figure as guidance, not a fixed rule.
Can one mood board control everything in the painting?
Label the role of each reference. One may set the subject, another the color hierarchy, and a room image the scale. Mark any conflicting details before sending the final brief.
