We paint every piece to order in Dafen, Shenzhen, so the size, the palette and the finish are all decided by your project rather than by what happens to be in stock. You see photographs of the finished canvas before it ships, and nothing leaves the studio until you approve it. Trade pricing starts at one piece, and the rate improves as the count goes up.

Look for the wide ivory band about two thirds of the way down. It runs nearly from edge to edge and splits the canvas into two parts. A long, dark gray shape lies on top of it, pointed at the left end like a boat, and a dotted row of small gray bars leads up to it from the left. Above the band, the blocks are paler and smaller, with a rounded cap in the upper right and tiny ladder marks under it. Below the band, the grays turn darker and heavier, so the painting feels anchored at the base. Every block is outlined in a thin black line that wobbles a little, which shows the hand that drew it.

AA24 uses almost nothing but gray, ivory and black, and those are the most flexible colors a wall can hold. On warm cream plaster or beige, like the bedroom and lounge photos here, the soft grays look cool and crisp. On a sage green wall, the ivory paths look warmer and the black lines stand out more. Oak, boucle, linen and jute keep all that gray from feeling cold. As neutral gray abstract art for a bedroom, it gives a tall, orderly view above the headboard. The narrow 3 by 2 shape also suits a hallway, a stair landing or the wall beside a hotel elevator, where a wide canvas will not fit. A gray and cream minimalist canvas like this one works in a home office too, behind a desk or a bookshelf.

Each AA24 is painted to order on premium linen, and one painter takes it from the first sketch to the last line. Nobody else works on it. The layout of blocks, paths and the long ivory band is sketched first. Next, the grays are mixed on the palette against this design, from pale silver to charcoal, and brushed on thin so the canvas weave shows. Ivory goes into the paths between the blocks. The black lines are drawn by hand near the end, which is why they waver and break. We paint in acrylic unless you ask for oil. Oil is available on request and takes longer. Photos and short videos come to you on WhatsApp as the painting goes, and you approve daylight photos of the finished canvas before it is released.
Plan on about 7 to 10 business days for one to five pieces, and about 10 to 15 for six to twenty. The 60 and 72 inch heights take the longer end, since one painter covers the whole canvas alone.
AA24 looks a little like a town seen from a plane. Gray blocks of many sizes fit together, and thin ivory paths run between them like lanes. A wide ivory band near the base could be a road or a river, and the long gray shape on it could be a boat. Some people see rooftops, some see a map, and some see an old stone wall. None of these is painted outright, so the canvas stays abstract. That makes it easy to use in many projects. In a hotel corridor or an office, it holds the eye a few seconds longer, as people find small details like the ladder marks and the rounded cap near the top.
Without the black lines, AA24 would be a soft wash of gray. The lines give it structure. Each block is outlined by hand in a thin black stroke that wobbles, breaks and starts again. Some lines run past the corner of a block, and a few bend into hooks and steps. That loose drawing keeps the grid from looking machine made. The grays inside are brushed on thin, so the canvas weave shows through in places. A handful of solid black wedges, on the left side and near the bottom right, give the eye small, firm stops between the paler blocks.
Abstract art covers a wide range. At one end are hard-edge geometric paintings with crisp, ruled shapes. At the other end are loose canvases where the brush moves freely. AA24 sits between the two. Its shapes are geometric, almost all rectangles and steps, yet every edge is drawn freehand. Twentieth century minimalism pushed art toward fewer colors and simpler forms, and this canvas borrows that short palette of gray, ivory and black. Its many blocks keep it busier than a classic minimalist piece. That balance suits modern interiors that want order without feeling cold.
Neutral colors are the most flexible choice for a wall, and this palette is almost all neutral. Dove gray covers most of the canvas, with pale silver near the top and charcoal toward the base. Warm ivory fills the paths and the wide band. Black supplies the lines and a few small wedges. In color research, gray is often linked with low energy and subdued moods, so it works best here as a quiet, architectural backdrop rather than a cheerful one. The ivory adds warmth, and the darker base gives weight. For a designer, the palette is easy to extend with oak, linen, black metal and soft white bedding.
AA24 is one and a half times as tall as it is wide, so it fits walls that are taller than they are wide. Think of an entryway beside a door, the wall between two windows, a stair landing or a narrow column in a lobby. Over a 48 inch console, the 48 by 32 inch size follows the two thirds rule. In a bedroom, check the space above the headboard first. The 36 by 24 inch size suits most 8 foot ceilings, and 40 by 27 inches suits a taller room. The 60 and 72 inch heights belong in lobbies and on double height walls. Any other size is painted to your measurements in the same shape.
Two designs work well near AA24. The black and cream bold abstract (AA11) shares the cream ground and the black, but with large torn shapes, so the two make a strong pair on facing walls. For warmth, the rust and charcoal mid-century geometric abstract (AA03) keeps the blocky geometry and adds rust and ochre, which suits a living room when AA24 hangs in the hallway outside.
For a tall piece above a console or a bench, aim for about two thirds of the furniture width and keep the top of the frame well below the ceiling. Sizes outside the list are no problem, and nothing ships until you approve daylight photos of the finished piece.
It shows no fixed scene. Soft gray blocks fit together like a patchwork, outlined in thin black lines, with ivory paths between them. A wide ivory band runs through the lower part with a long gray shape on it. It might be a hillside town from above, a map or an old stone wall, depending on who is looking. The painting leaves that choice open.
Warm walls work best with this much gray. Cream, warm beige and soft warm white keep it from looking cold, as the bedroom and living room photos show. Sage green works too and makes the ivory paths look warmer. Avoid a cool gray wall in the same tone as the blocks, which can make the painting fade into the wall.
Measure the height first. Over a 48 inch console in an entryway, the 48 by 32 inch size follows the two thirds rule. Above a bed, leave about 8 inches over the headboard, then check the ceiling. The 36 by 24 inch size suits most 8 foot ceilings, and 40 by 27 inches suits a taller room. The 60 and 72 inch heights are best for lobbies and double height walls.
Yes. The grays can warm toward taupe or greige, or cool toward blue gray. The black lines can turn charcoal or dark brown for a softer look, and one accent color, such as rust or sage, can be added to a few blocks. Send a paint chip or a photo of the room, and the colors are mixed against it on the palette.
No, the surface is mostly flat. The grays are brushed on thin, so you can see the canvas weave in places, and a few charcoal patches have a dry, scratchy look. The black lines sit on top as fine strokes. It is a smooth painting that hangs close to the wall and suits a slim frame.
The layout stays the same on every piece, including the ivory band, the long gray shape, the rounded cap in the upper right and the darker base. The exact wobble of each black line and the brush marks inside the blocks change a little, because each canvas is painted by hand. For a hotel corridor or a run of guest rooms, one approved canvas can guide the rest.
A thin black frame, as on the main image, picks up the black lines and gives a crisp, modern edge. A thin gold or oak frame, like the room photos, adds warmth to the gray. White and silver frames are also available. You can also choose a stretched canvas with no frame, or a rolled canvas in a tube.
