02 / Define the painting brief
Use a clear photograph with visible facial features. Additional photographs can clarify details, but nominate one as the main pose and expression. Mark any clothing, insignia, hands, or objects that must remain in the composition.
When adding to an existing portrait wall, send straight-on photographs and measurements. Compare head scale, eye line, background value, orientation, and frame finish. Record which characteristics should match and which belong to the new sitter.
Agree who can approve the source and the actual finished canvas. Gather committee comments into one marked response. Include review time and shipping in the unveiling schedule, and request a sample or progress discussion when the brief needs it.
03 / Prepare the order
High-resolution portrait photos, approved pose and crop, existing wall examples, size, frame choice, reviewer, destination, and unveiling date.
Attach the chosen reference to each design and keep alternatives separate. We review the brief with you before production is confirmed.
04 / Confirm price and delivery

05 / Resolve the details
Choose a sharp image with clear facial features and the expression you want retained. A high-resolution original is better than a screenshot. Additional photos can clarify details, but identify one image as the main pose.
Send both files and label what each controls. We review whether the angles and lighting can form a convincing composition. Agree that arrangement before painting rather than mixing references without a clear priority.
Measure the image area and photograph the existing portraits. Compare head size, eye line, background value, pose, and framing. Matching those relationships is more useful than asking for the same style in general terms.
Include time for source approval, painting, consolidated review, shipping, and local hanging. Tell us the date the canvas must be received, not only the ceremony date. We confirm the schedule after reviewing the portrait brief.
