We paint every piece to order in Dafen, Shenzhen, so the size, the palette and the finish are all decided by your project rather than by what happens to be in stock. You see photographs of the finished canvas before it ships, and nothing leaves the studio until you approve it. Trade pricing starts at one piece, and the rate improves as the count goes up.

The far shore sits high on this canvas, about a quarter of the way down. It is a low line of mauve and smoky brown hills under a pale cream sky. Below it, the left side opens into soft lilac water. Under the hills, gray blue and pale yellow streaks run straight down like reflections. Then the color turns warm. A wide haze of burnt orange, rust and apricot fills the middle, dotted with tiny dark brown flecks. In the lower left corner, thin dark twigs with rust leaves reach up, and a small dark rock sits on the bottom edge. The lower right corner stays a pale, still lilac, so the orange has somewhere cool to fade into.

Most of AA26 is warm, so warm neutral walls make the easiest match. On the butter cream wall in this dining nook, the burnt orange glows and the lilac water looks soft and cool. Sand, oatmeal and warm white work the same way. For a bolder, tonal look, a terracotta, coral or dusty pink wall repeats the rust, as two of the room photos show. Greige and soft gray give more contrast and make the orange look brighter. White linen, oak, jute and a bowl of lemons all pick up colors from the canvas. As orange abstract wall art for a dining room, it gives a round table one warm focus. As a vertical abstract landscape for an entryway, it fits the wall above a bench or a slim console.

Each AA26 is painted new for your order in our studio in Dafen Art Village, Shenzhen. One painter, who works on loose landscapes every day, makes every stroke, and nobody else touches the canvas. The shoreline, the waterline and the big orange area are sketched and blocked in on premium linen first. Next comes color. The burnt orange, rust, lilac and cream are mixed on the palette and checked against this design, then laid on in soft, overlapping washes. The dark flecks, the scratched twigs and the small rock go on last, because they need the haze underneath them. We paint in acrylic unless you ask for oil, which is available on request and takes longer. WhatsApp brings you photos and short videos as the painting goes. When it is finished, you see daylight photos of the canvas and approve them before anything leaves the studio.
For one to five pieces, allow about 7 to 10 business days. Six to twenty pieces take about 10 to 15. The 60 by 48 and 72 by 58 inch sizes land at the longer end, since a single painter covers the whole surface.
AA26 changes temperature as your eye moves down. The top is a pale cream sky. Just under it, a band of mauve hills and lilac water keeps things cool. Then the middle turns hot, with burnt orange, rust and apricot covering nearly half the canvas. At the very bottom, the right corner cools again into a still, pale lilac. Orange and violet are complementary colors, so each one makes the other look stronger. Warm oranges are often linked with energy and a welcoming feel, while soft blues and violets tend to read as calm. Here the two share one view, so the painting feels warm without feeling loud.
Nothing in AA26 is drawn in detail, yet most people find a lake in it. The low hills near the top make a far shore. The gray blue and pale yellow streaks under them look like reflections pulled down into the water. In the lower left, thin twigs with rust leaves stand in front of everything, and a dark rock sits at the bottom edge, so the viewer seems to stand on the near bank. The orange in the middle is the open question. It could be autumn reeds, trees on the far side or the glow of a low sun on the water. Still water has long been linked with calm and reflection, and leaving the rest open lets each guest finish the scene.
The surface tells you how the painting was made. The orange haze is laid down in thin, overlapping washes, then dragged lightly with a dry brush so the color breaks into a fine grain. Tiny dark brown flecks are dotted into it. In the pale lower right, long side to side strokes leave the linen weave visible, which makes the water look flat and still. The twigs are the sharpest marks on the canvas. They are scratched in as thin dark lines, then touched with small rust leaves. That contrast between blurred color and a few crisp lines is what gives the scene its depth.
A warm, soft landscape suits rooms where people sit and stay a while. In a restaurant or a wine bar, AA26 picks up candlelight, wood tables and terracotta. In a hotel lounge or a guest room, the lilac water keeps the orange from feeling too hot for a restful space. The tall 5 by 4 shape also fits the narrow walls that commercial spaces have plenty of: beside a lift, between two windows or at the end of a corridor. Two of the room photos show it above an entry bench, which is a good guide for a lobby wall. One design ordered in a few sizes lets a lobby and the guest floors share one look.
AA26 comes in seven standard sizes, from 24 by 19 inches up to 72 by 58 inches, all with the same 5 by 4 proportions. The smaller sizes suit a hallway niche, a bedside wall or a group of frames on a staircase. For a single piece over furniture, the two thirds rule is a good start. Over a 48 inch sideboard, the size that is 40 inches tall and 32 wide feels right. Over a long sofa, the 60 by 48 inch size fills the wall, as long as the ceiling leaves space above it. If none of the standard sizes fit, the canvas is painted to your measurements, and the lilac, the orange or the twigs can be adjusted for the room.
Two canvases pair well with AA26. The charcoal splash and rust haze abstract horizon canvas (AA14) shares the rust and the open cream sky in a wider shape, so it can hang over a sofa while AA26 takes a narrow wall nearby. For a cooler partner, the foggy lake painting with tall trees and a low sun (IA129) keeps the still water and the mauve haze in the same tall format.
Keep the middle of the canvas 57 to 60 inches above the floor in most rooms, and a little higher in a lobby where people stand further back. Every size is painted to order, and daylight photos of your own canvas come to you for approval before it ships.
A bit of both. A low line of mauve hills near the top reads as a far shore, lilac water opens below it, and bare twigs with a dark rock sit in the lower left corner. The big burnt orange haze in the middle has no clear shape, so it could be reeds, autumn trees or a low sun on the water. No real place is shown, which lets the canvas work in any project.
Warm neutrals do it best. Butter cream, sand and warm white let the burnt orange glow and keep the lilac soft. Greige or soft gray adds contrast and makes the orange look brighter, as in the entryway with the gray bench. For a tonal look, coral or dusty pink repeats the rust. Avoid a strong orange or red wall, which flattens the haze. Room light shifts color, so test a sample on the actual wall.
The canvas is 5 units tall for every 4 wide. Over a 48 inch bench or sideboard, the size that is 40 inches tall and 32 wide covers about two thirds of the width. Over a 72 inch sofa, the 60 by 48 inch size fills the wall well if the ceiling allows, since it stands five feet tall. Over a 36 inch console, try 30 by 24 inches. Keep the center about 57 to 60 inches above the floor.
Yes. The lilac can lean bluer or pinker, the orange can soften toward apricot or deepen toward rust, and the twigs can be made fuller or left out for a cleaner look. A paint chip or a room photo is enough for the painter to mix against. Progress photos show each change long before the canvas is finished.
Mostly smooth, with a soft dry brushed grain. The haze is made of thin, overlapping washes, and the linen weave shows through in the pale lower right. The twigs are thin scratched lines, and a few spots near the hills carry slightly thicker paint. It is not an impasto or plaster piece, so the effect comes from soft color rather than raised texture.
They will be very close in everything a guest notices. The high shoreline, the lilac on the left, the orange center and the twigs in the corner stay in the same places with the same balance of color. The dark flecks and the exact shape of each twig change a little, since every canvas is painted by hand. For a tight match on every floor, the run can be painted against one approved sample.
A thin gold or light wood frame picks up the apricot and ochre, which is the look in every room photo here. Black gives the orange a sharper edge, as in the main image. White and silver frames are offered too, and so are frameless stretched canvas and rolled canvas in a tube, which is the most compact way to ship.
